FAQ

Instagram Grid Splitter FAQ

In what order should I post the split grid tiles to Instagram?+
Always upload in reverse order! For a 3×3 grid (9 tiles), upload tile #9 first, then #8, #7, and so on until tile #1. Because Instagram adds new posts to the top-left of your profile grid, this ensures the overall picture reassembles seamlessly.
What resolution should my original photo be?+
For best results, we recommend photos at least 3240 × 3240 pixels (for a 3×3 grid). Each individual Instagram square tile is 1080 × 1080 pixels, so higher resolution source files guarantee crisp clarity without pixelation.
Does this tool compress or lower the quality of my images?+
No. The slicing is performed locally using the HTML5 Canvas API in your browser with high-quality JPEG export settings (95% quality). Your original resolution is preserved without lossy server re-encoding.
Can I download the tiles individually instead of a ZIP?+
Yes. Hover or tap on any individual tile in the preview grid to download just that single slice.
